Questions

The things families usually ask.

Does my parent need a smartphone or an app?
No. Elsie calls their regular phone — landline or mobile. There is nothing to install, log into, or learn.
What happens if they don’t answer?
Elsie tries again a little later. If they still don’t pick up, we send you a heads‑up so you can check in yourself.
Can my parent call Elsie when they need something?
Yes. Elsie has her own phone number your parent can call anytime. She can help order groceries for delivery, arrange a ride to a doctor’s appointment, book or reschedule appointments, refill a prescription, send a message to family, or just keep them company. She remembers previous chats, so it feels like calling a friend.
How do groceries and rides get paid for?
You add a card once in your dashboard. When Elsie orders groceries or books a ride, the third‑party charge goes on that card — nothing goes through your parent. You can set a spending cap and get a notification for every order.
How does Elsie know it’s my parent when they call in?
By their phone number. We match the caller ID to the number you gave us at signup, so Elsie greets them by name and picks up in context. If someone else uses their phone to call, Elsie will politely explain she can only chat with the person she’s set up for.
Will it feel like a robot?
No. The call is warm and conversational — asking how they’re doing, listening, and following the thread naturally. Most people say it feels like chatting with a thoughtful new friend.
What kind of things can Elsie remind them about?
Medication, upcoming appointments, meals, water, or anything else you add. Reminders are gentle — never nagging.
Is this a medical or emergency service?
No. Elsie is companionship and a daily check‑in. In an emergency, always call 911 (or your local emergency number).
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime, from your dashboard. The first week is free — you won’t be charged until day 8.
Is our data private?
Yes. Summaries are only visible to you and anyone you explicitly invite. Calls are never sold or shared for advertising.
